I am a game designer who is passionate about making games that connect with players and bring them exciting new experiences. I work primarily on Live Action Role Playing games and Tabletop Roleplaying games. I also work on Board Games and Video Games. My games have been featured at conventions, and I have also worked on blockbuster LARPs, bringing in people from around the globe.
Recent Projects
Superqueeroes
Co-founder, head game designer
Superqueeroes is a low-mechanics, theatre-style LARP. It’s a 4-hour roleplaying game about superpowers, identity, queerness, romance, and drama. It’s a game written by three queer people who wanted to see themselves reflected in superhero media. My role was to build out the mechanics for which players could interact with the world and use their powers that let them solve challenges in exciting, yet satisfying ways.
Magischola Prep 1-3
Character writer, content designer, counselor
Magischola Prep is a week-long LARP Summer camp for children ages 12-17. It features the children playing students entering a summer of magical school. They are sorted into different houses, learn to cast spells, and develop skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I wrote many of the characters the campers would take on, as well as helping to construct the classes they would take and the adventures they’d go on after class.
Event Horizon 1-2
Character writer, content designer
Event Horizon is a weekend-long blockbuster science-fiction larp set on an unexplored planet. The players are new colonists, each with their own reason for coming to this world. My role is to build characters for the players to inhabit and interact with, and to help build out the world they are exploring. My work included over 40 pages of research notes, scientific logs, and puzzles for the players to go through, helping them to further explore the mysteries of ancient technology on the planet.
Dueling Death Cards
Founder, head-game designer
Dueling Death Cards is a three-hour long LARP about children’s card games and the end of the world. It’s a loving parody of the competitive card game genre. I helped design the world, and I created an entire trading card game for players to enjoy over the course of the event.
Paradise City
Co-founder, head of mechanics, content writer
Paradise City was a campaign LARP that ran over the course of two years. It focused on the secret city beneath Las Vegas where the US government hid the people and things it did not want the world to see. I was responsible for developing the system in which players could design their characters, allowing them to gain new abilities and powers over time. I was also responsible for writing out storylines and content, building out challenges for players to overcome and areas of the world to explore.
COGS
Game designer, programmer, co-founder
COGS was a JRPG game coded entirely in Java. As a team of 4, we wrote the engine ourselves. I handled level design, and designed and programmed the battle system. I also handled some of the pixel art.
Principia Mathemagica
Game designer, character writer
Pope Innocentius XI has called for a secret gathering of the leaders of the Christian world, and now the palaces and apartments of Rome teem with some of the boldest rulers, greatest scientists, and most eccentric heiresses the world has ever seen. This is a short 3-4 hour larp featuring math duels, politics, magic, the fight for equal rights, and suppression of knowledge. I worked on writing characters for this game, as well as designing the core mechanics to let players interact with the world and to stage duels between Newton and Liebniz.
